The official website of the Malacañang Palace is now temporarily suspended for some updates, according to the Presidential Museum and Library (PML).

In a statement released on Facebook, the PML debunked claims that the government site was deleted. PML noted that it is now undergoing an update on its content and safeguards.

“Contrary to reports that it has been deleted, the website malacanang.gov.ph is merely suspended following measures to update the content therein and improve its security features,” the PML said.

Various concerns have been circulating online, including claims of alteration, as the website includes the storage of repositories of the presidency of the Philippines.

“Rest assured that the contents of the said website have not been compromised and will be made available to the public at the soonest possible time,” the management added.

Online speculations were posted on several platforms immediately after  Former Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Undersecretary Manuel L. Quezon III flagged the taking down of the website.

“malacanang.gov.ph, where the repositories of the Presidential Museum and Library were, is gone,” he said in a tweet.

Quezon then shared alternative sites where the public can access the historical materials, including sources from the Official Gazette and Archive.org.
