Reyes hopes for TNT to rebuild team fabric as Williams returns

TNT coach Chot Reyes hopes that the Tropang Giga and star Mikey Williams have begun patching things up.

It is, after all, the most important thing if the club hopes to go deep in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“I think the most important thing is the relationship among the players,” he said on Saturday, shortly after TNT snapped a two-game slide with a 121-90 rout of Terrafirma.

“The fabric of the team has to remain strong,” he added.

It could be recalled that Williams was suspended without pay for a week due to an accumulation of offenses, which ranged from tardiness and no-shows during practices, according to team manager Jojo Lastimosa.

Williams, according to Reyes, will be reinstated this Sunday, pending clearance from Lastimosa.

“As far as I’m concerned, Mikey comes back to practice, he works hard, he puts in everything we ask him… there is no need to apologize to me,” said Reyes.

“The more important thing is for him to apologize to his teammates because actually, those are the people who were put down by his absences," he added.

An Instagram entry by TNT forward Carl Bryan Cruz has shown Williams having lunch with his teammates earlier this week.

“We just have to rebuild the fabric of the team, like I said,” Reyes said.
