DESPITE easing restrictions due to lower COVID-19 cases, the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) will still be conducted online, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

"Muling inaaanyayahan ang sambayanan na makilahok sa second quarter online NSED, sa ika-9 ng Hunyo 2022, alas nuwebe nang umaga. Magsisimula ang programa ng alas otso (We are inviting again the public to participate in the second quarter online NSED which will be held on June 9 at 9 a.m. The program starts at 8 a.m.)," the OCD said in their social media account.

"Sabay-sabay tayong mag-duck, cover, and hold sa pagtunog ng sirena (Together, let us duck, cover, and hold once the siren starts)," it said.

According to the OCD, they decided to maintain the status quo on suspending the evacuation part of the second online NSED due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first quarter online NSED for 2022 was held last March 10.

According to the OCD, the second quarter NSED can be watched the live stream on Civil Defense PH and NDRRMC Facebook pages and YouTube channels.

In 2021 the NSED for the first and second quarters was held on March 11 and June 10, respectively. The third quarter national earthquake drill was on September 16, while the fourth quarter drill was on November 11.
