Dennis Orcollo and Carlo Biado made it to the semifinals of the 2021 US Open Pool Championship after beating their respective opponents in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Orcollo made quick work of his opponents in the Rounds of 16, beating Mario He (11-6) and Max Lechner (11-7) of Austria.
Biado, on the other hand, barely overcame David Alcaide Bermudez and Johann Chua with a score of 11-10.
The winner of the US Open tournament will get $50,000 (around P2.5 million).
Orcollo will face Aloysius Yapp of Singapore, while Biado will battle Naoyuki Oi of Japan in the semifinals on Sunday, Manila time.
A potential Filipino vs Filipino battle awaits should Orcollo and Biado advance in the finals.
Geronimo beat Denis Grabe, 11-10, in the last 16 but was then defeated by Yapp, 11-6, in the quarterfinals.
