For Filipino basketball fans, watching the NBA Finals has always been more than just following a game, it is a shared passion that brings communities together. That spirit was on full display in Mandaluyong City as Prime Video transformed a routine game viewing into an immersive celebration of basketball culture.
Over 120 basketball enthusiasts gathered at Bigger Pictures on June 6 for the NBA on Prime Video: NBA Finals Watch Party, where the excitement of the championship series between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs unfolded live on the big screen. The venue was reimagined as a Finals-inspired basketball arena, welcoming guests through an NBA-themed entrance tunnel before leading them into a cinematic viewing setup designed to recreate the atmosphere of being courtside.
The timing could not have been better. Fans witnessed a dramatic Game 2 showdown that ended with the Knicks edging the Spurs, 105-104, to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. Every basket, defensive stop and late-game moment sparked cheers throughout the venue, turning the watch party into a collective celebration of one of basketball’s biggest stages.
Beyond the live game, attendees explored a range of interactive attractions, including a Shoot Arcade, Pass Game Booth and themed photo installations. Live hosts, halftime entertainment and fan engagement activities kept the energy high throughout the morning.
The 2026 NBA Finals mark the culmination of Prime Video’s inaugural season of global NBA coverage under its 11-year media rights partnership with the league. In the Philippines, all Finals games are streaming live on Prime Video, with tipoff scheduled at 8:30 a.m. PHT.
This year’s Finals is a historic one, as the Knicks make their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999, facing the same franchise that denied them a championship 27 years ago. The Spurs, powered by French superstar Victor Wembanyama, are seeking another title, while the league is guaranteed an eighth different champion in the last eight seasons, an unprecedented stretch of parity in NBA history.
For Filipino viewers, access comes at just P149 per month, with Prime Video offering not only live NBA coverage but also a broad lineup of international and local films, series, Korean dramas, anime and sports documentaries.
