OXGN Brings Budots From Davao to the Streets in ‘The Final Round’

What happens when a sound born from the streets of Davao meets contemporary hip-hop and streetwear? OXGN explores that intersection in “The Final Round,” its latest 2026 campaign, which puts budots, movement and Filipino street culture at the center of its newest collection.

The campaign pays tribute to budots pioneer DJ Love and the grassroots community that shaped the electronic dance sound in Davao. Rather than treating the genre simply as a musical reference, OXGN uses it as the starting point for a campaign built around music, fashion and community participation.

At the heart of the project is a new budots-meets-hip-hop fusion track created with international DJs SGAMO and Jarreau Vandal. The track serves as the cultural and musical anchor of a performance-driven campaign film, setting the tone before the spotlight shifts toward OXGN’s latest streetwear pieces.

Under the banner “Local Sound. Global Recognition. Streetwear Expression,” the campaign reflects the brand’s focus on how Filipino street culture can continue to evolve while retaining its local roots.

“We wanted to show that Filipino streetwear can stand confidently beside global style movements while still staying close to the people it was made for,” said Cathleen Cotioco, Brand Director of OXGN. “The collection takes AMEKAJI inspiration and translates it through OXGN’s local lens. Creating fashion and merchandise that feel elevated, relevant, and competitive on a global scale, but still reachable for young Filipinos.”

The fashion component of “The Final Round” will arrive through three collection drops scheduled for August, September and October. The pieces draw inspiration from Amekaji (????), a Japanese interpretation of American casual style that incorporates elements of vintage Western workwear and military clothing through a more refined Japanese aesthetic.

That influence appears across the men’s and women’s collections through relaxed silhouettes, camouflage prints and textured fabrics. Prices start at P 899.

The staggered release also follows the campaign’s music-and-movement concept, with each drop adding to the broader streetwear story rather than presenting the collection all at once.

For OXGN, the campaign is also an opportunity to place a distinctly Filipino sound within a wider cultural conversation. Budots has grown from its Davao roots into a recognizable part of Filipino street and party culture, and its pairing with hip-hop and contemporary fashion gives the genre another space for reinterpretation.

“The Final Round” was unveiled through OXGN’s social media channels in August and will continue rolling out throughout the month ahead of the September and October collection drops.
