Malabon City, Philippines — A massive fire swept through Sitio 6, Catmon, Malabon City at around 4:30 p.m., leaving an estimated 1,500 familiesdisplaced and in urgent need of humanitarian support. As the community grappled with the loss of homes and livelihoods, JC Cares Foundation quickly mobilized its team to deliver much-needed relief.
JC Cares Foundation, the charitable arm connected to the Company of JC and the House of Franchise, has long been committed to helping communities in crisis. Guided by its founders, Mr. Jonathan So and Mr. Carlito Macadangdang, the foundation responded promptly to ensure that affected families received rice, canned goods, noodles, milk and coffee.
Upon learning about the incident, JC Cares coordinated with local authorities and volunteers to distribute initial relief goods. Families who had evacuated to temporary shelters expressed gratitude for the foundation’s presence during such a difficult time.
“Our mission has always been to be present when communities need us the most,” said founders Mr. So and Mr. Macadangdang in a joint statement. “Seeing thousands of families lose their homes is heartbreaking, and JC Cares is committed to supporting them as they begin to recover.”
The fire, described as one of the most devastating incidents in the area in recent years, left much of Sitio 6 in ashes. Relief operations are expected to continue in the coming days as assessments of survivors’ needs are further coordinated with city officials.
