In response to the devastation wrought by Typhoon Uwan, the JC Cares Foundation has mobilised a large-scale relief operation aimed at supporting impacted families in Navotas. The distribution is set to take place on November 10 and 11, 2025 at the Navotas Convention Center, and will benefit 3,000 families in the city.
The initiative was led by the foundation’s founders Mr Jonathan So and Mr Carlito Macadangdang — who rallied support from the private sector and dedicated employees of their organisation. Under their vision, JC Cares emphasises rapid response and generous giving as pillars of its mission.
The volunteers gathered at the 35 Shaw Boulevard (JC Office) to unpack, sort, and package relief goods. The items likely included staples such as rice, canned goods, noodles, milk, coffee and JC Products. With this latest initiative in Navotas, the foundation seeks to bring urgent help into a community where the impacts of Typhoon Uwan are still unfolding.
The 60 volunteers played roles not only in packing but also in distribution, crowd management, and helping record the hand-over of goods. Their involvement emphasises the foundation’s philosophy of “people helping people”.
Natural disasters like Typhoon Uwan disproportionately affect low-income and densely populated urban communities such as those in Navotas. Relief operations like this one help bridge the gap between immediate emergency response and longer-term recovery efforts. The JC Cares Foundation’s initiative demonstrates responsiveness and grounded engagement with affected communities.
