Topex Robinson has been named the new head coach of De La Salle University’s (DLSU) men’s basketball team.
The university made Robinson's hiring official on Thursday.
Robinson will make his return at the collegiate ranks after spending two years in the PBA with the Phoenix Super LPG.
The former PBA guard made his coaching debut in NCAA with his alma mater San Sebastian College-Recoletos from Seasons 87 to 89.
Robinson guided the Golden Stags to a runner-up finish in Season 87 and a third-place finish in 89.
In NCAA Season 90, he went to Lyceum of the Philippines University.
The Pirates would finish second twice in Seasons 93 and 94.
The 48-year-old will replace Derrick Pumaren, who steered the Green Archers to a Final Four appearance in UAAP Season 84 only for them to miss the semis in Season 85.
La Salle were also considering Rajko Toroman, Nenad Vucinic, and Cholo Villanueva as their next head coach before they decided to give the job to Robinson.
