On November 10, Filipino bowling legend Paeng Nepomuceno won the gold medal in the men's singles 65+ division of the 16th Asian Senior Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, proving once again why he is the living legend of bowling.
The six-time world bowling champion won the 65-and-above singles competition by outscoring the Japanese bowler Akira Nakada (1238) and the Korean bowler Jin Headong (1223) with a total of 1264 pinfalls.
The 65-year-old bowler, who has maintained three unbroken records during his career, defeated 59 other competitors at the same level.
Noli Eala, the head of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), expressed his joy over the bowling legend's victory on Twitter.
"Asian Seniors age 65+ singles competition champion and legend Paeng Nepomuceno of the Philippines took home GOLD. Paeng once again demonstrated his caliber with a 210-game average. Bravo, Paeng! You never cease to inspire us. Mabuhay!", The tweet read.
