Museum in Intramuros commemorates Rizal's Euro travels

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) launched the exhibit Jose Rizal, in Europe at the Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago. The exhibit was launched in celebration of Museums and Galleries Month.

The exhibit featured paintings of KUNST Filipino. KUNST is a German word for art and is an acronym for the art organization Kapatiran at Ugnayan ng Natatanging Sining at Talento, an art organization founded by Virgilio Godoy Cuizon, an art manager, art critic, and curator residing in Germany. KUNST Filipino was recently awarded at the BanaagAward 2021 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO).  

The Ten (10) paintings, semi-finalists in the International Painting Contest-themed “Life of Dr. Jose Rizal in Europe,” were donated to the NHCP.  

The artists who participated in the donation of their artworks were Arthur Marcelo, Jorge Banawa, Eliseo Perreras Jr., Bryan Yabut, Efren Carpio, John Perry Pellejera, Petronilo Gonzales Jr., Ronna Manansala, Vincent Gonzales, and Rodel Bautista.

NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage by administrating national shrines, museums, research and publication, conservation, and marking of historic sites and structures.
