After months of dating speculation, Kapamilya actors Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo have been confirmed to be dating.

This news was confirmed by Ria's mom, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, in an interview with broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez on the show "Korina Interviews."

Sylvia, however, said that Ria and Zanjoe are not yet an "item," and are still in the dating stage.

"Ang huli naming pagkikita ni Ria, nag-usap kami. Kasi hiwalay na kami ng bahay eh. Solo na siya. Sinabi niya, hindi pa raw," Sylvia said. 

(The last time Ria and I met, we talked. Because we now live I a seperate home. She's now living alone. She said, 'not yet'). 

She said she couldn't know if the two are in a relationship because her daughter has not yet updated her. 

"Pero nagliligawan, parang nagpaparamdaman e, ganun. Hindi ko masabi na oo talaga, kasi wala pang pag-amin e. Wala pa talaga," Sylvia continued. 

(But they are in the courtship stage; it feels like that. So I can't say yes, because there is no confession yet. Nothing really). 

In a separate interview with MJ Marfori that was uploaded on TikTok, she admitted that Ria and Zanjoe were in the dating stage.

"Sabi sa akin ni Ria dating, pero hindi pa sila," pag-amin ni Sylvia.

(Ria told me that they are dating, but they are still not yet an item). 

Sylvia added that she finds the pregnancy and marriage rumors surrounding the two funny. 

"Natatawa ako ‘dun sa mga lumalabas na buntis, nagpakasal. Hello ako muna ang unang makakaalam ano? Ako po nanay," she said. 

(I laugh at the marriage and pregnancy rumors. Hello, I'll be the first to know, right? I'm her mom). 

There were earlier rumors that Ria and Zanjoe were "an item" when the two were spotted together at a restaurant in New York in August.

The two can be seen together at the birthday celebration of Ria's "former rumored boyfriend," Joshua Garcia.

Meanwhile, the two are silent about the status of their relationship.
