The second national retail chain to announce its entry into Bohol province is the grocery store behemoth Puregold Price Club Inc., which has announced its intention to open its first branch in Bohol.

During a visit to Bohol, Puregold Acquisition Manager Lalette Alea stated that although they are considering several sites in the province, they have not yet decided where the first branch will be built.

Alea was one of several Puregold representatives that traveled to Bohol to meet with Capitol authorities to expedite their admittance into the province on the island.

Puregold has only mentioned one potential site thus far, and that is in Ubay.

"We're looking into Ubay since the mayor [Constan Reyes] has offered us two properties, and we're checking on it now," Alea said.

The owner of the grocery company has long wanted to grow in Bohol, but they haven't yet found the perfect spot for their first branch.

Last month, executives from SM Supermalls visited the province to look over potential sites for their first mall on the island.
Senior Vice President of SM Supermalls, Bien Mateo, stated they were "100%" dedicated to expanding in Bohol.
