National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo on Tuesday commended the cops from Southern Police District (SPD) for going beyond their call of duty after helping a woman successfully give birth to her baby boy in Pasay City.

True to their commitment to perform Extraordinary deeds for the people of Metro Manila, Estomo commends SPD Medical and Dental Unit for their Extraordinary act of helping a mother in the delivery of her child at about 9:30 a.m. Monday in Pasay City.

According to the report, police trainees who were conducting police visibility as part of S.A.F.E. (Seen, Appreciated, and Felt by the people through Extraordinary actions) NCRPO Program called the attention of the DMDU traversing J.W. Diokno Blvd. Pasay City.

SPDMDU personnel being knowledgeable that time is crucial in the life of a mother and baby in this situation did not waste time and conducted normal spontaneous delivery of a baby boy at the mother`s residence due to imminent signs of delivery.

The lady and her newborn were immediately brought to Ospital ng Maynila for further medical care.

"I commend the immediate action of our law enforcers for their commendable action. Ito ang patuloy na tagumpay ng ating programang S.A.F.E NCRPO kung saan ang mga pulis ay nakadeploy sa mga kalsada upang magbigay ng mas mabilis na responde sa mga katulad nito na hindi inaasahang pangyayari. Asahan ninyo na ang mga pulis naninyong makikita sa daan ay inyong maaaasahan malalapitan at matatakbuhan tungo sa isang SAFE NCR (This is the continued success of our S.A.F.E NCRPO program where police officers are deployed on the roads to provide a faster response to unexpected incidents like this. Expect that the cops you see on the road will be approachable towards to a SAFE NCR),” Estomo stressed.
