The Valenzuela city government has received another seal of governance from the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) for using the Filipino language in communicating public service.

In a statement on the last day of Buwan ng Wika, the Valenzuela city government said it received the “Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko 2022 Antas II” from the KWF during the awarding ceremony capping the commemoration of language month at Diamond Hotel Philippines in Manila.

The city government first received its KWF Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko Antas I in August last year.

“Valenzuela City was once again recognized this year as a partner of Komisyon sa Wikang

Filipino in the delivery of quality public services using the Filipino language,” city hall said in the statement.

The local government unit said it bagged the award for its dedication in “translating

to Filipino the Citizen’s Charter and the City’s Mission and Vision; using Filipino in making official correspondence, notice to the public, and advertisements on social media platforms; and Filipino language programs have been successfully implemented.”

The city government said it is also “continuously cooperating and supporting the activities of KWF for the purpose of making the Filipino language the language of public service.”

The city’s cultural and tourism office head Jonathan Balsamo received the award from the KWF on behalf of Valenzuela mayor Wes Gatchalian.
