Six-foot-four teen Kyle Gamber has joined Ateneo’s latest haul of Filipino-American recruits.

The Blue Eagles announced the pickup of the Filipino-American prospect on Saturday, adding Gamber to a pool of youngsters that includes Albert Opeña Jr., Paul Garcia, and Jared Brown.

“The effort to get Kyle …. was something that was extremely important to us,” said head coach TAb Baldwin.

“We knew there were a lot of people interested, and we really expected to have to pull out all the stops with Kyle,” he added.

Gamber averaged 30.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 assists for Polytech High in Woodside, Delaware.

“I always knew that even before I talked to coach Tab, I knew I wanted to choose Ateneo, but talking to him made me further my interest because he just explained the environment,” the 17-year-old guard said.

Gamber will be eligible for Ateneo beginning the 86th Season of the UAAP.

He will still be able to play alongside fellow recruit Kai Ballungay, and the current members of the Blue Eagles core in Chris Koon, Mason Amos, Inand Fornillos, and Forthsky Padrigao.
