Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go urged national and local governments to continue pandemic response efforts, particularly in remote areas.
During a relief activity in Santa Teresita, Batangas, the senator emphasized the importance of vaccines in the country.
He encouraged unvaccinated individuals to participate in the national immunization program to protect themselves from COVID-19 better.
"Nakikiusap din po ako sa mga LGUs, sa ating national government, magtulungan po tayo. Kung kailangan po, suyurin natin 'yung mga senior citizens at PWDs para po protektado sila, (I also ask the LGUs, our national government, to work together. If necessary, we will reach senior citizens and PWDs so that they are protected,)” the senator said.
The charity operation was staged at the covered municipal court, where the senator's crew-served meals and provided masks to 667 Batangueños in need.
Furthermore, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) gave financial support to help alleviate the pandemic's negative consequences.
"Alam ko pong mahirap ang panahon ngayon, nasa krisis tayo dulot ng Covid-19. Magtulungan lang tayo, magbayanihan ho tayo at magmalasakit po tayo sa ating kapwa Pilipino, (I know the weather is difficult now, we are in a crisis caused by Covid-19. Let's just work together and let's take care of our fellow Filipinos,)” said Go.
He encouraged those in need of medical attention to go to the Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City or the Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery, which has Malasakit Centers available to help them with medical bills.
