The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) endorsed the Uniteam tandem of presidential aspirant and former senator Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara  Duterte on Sunday for the May 9 local and national elections.

MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari announced the decision in a hotel in Davao City in the presence of MNLF members and guests.

In the same gathering, Misuari also endorsed the candidacy of actor Robin Padilla for senator.

Sources said the group decided to support the Uniteam because they believed in the wisdom and sincerity of the two leaders, especially Marcos, whose father, the late president Ferdinand Marcos, was responsible for the 1975 Tripoli Peace Agreement.

The MNLF endorsement further boosts the BBM-Sara tandem, which has constantly topped almost all election surveys.
