Ex-Altas basketball star wins MVP award in Pilipinas Super League 1st season

A promising scorer from Panabo City, Davao del Norte, was given the most valuable player award in the first season of the Pilipinas Super League Pearl of the Orient Cup.

Davao Occidental Tigers guard Gab Dagangon was declared PSL MVP for leading Davao to the championship of the newest professional basketball league in the Philippines.

In the just-concluded PSL season 1, Dagangon, a former star of Perpetual Health University Altas in the NCAA, averaged 15.5 points per game for his team.

In the PSL finals against the Cagayan de Oro Higalas, Dagangon also had a solid game for his team in their championship run.

Aside from the trophy, the Tigers won P2 million cash as a prize for winning the first year championship of PSL.
The Higalas, for their part, settled for a runner-up trophy and 1 million cash.
