A video showing a brutal killing of a motorist in Brgy. Tipolo, Mandaue City, went viral on Tuesday morning, December 14.
The victim, identified as Irvin Dunhill Inocanda, was seen driving his orange car when two assailants riding a motorcycle began shooting at him.
Inocanda got out of his vehicle and ran for about 30 meters, but the suspects caught him and fired more bullets. He eventually died in front of a local bank.
Based on the initial investigation of the police, Inocanda went to jail in 2018 because of illegal possession of drugs and firearms.
“Nakapiyansa siya, nakagawas bag-o lang pag March 2021, so naa pa ni siyay ongoing nga case sa Argao. Mao pa na ato background sa iya,” PMAJ James Conaco, the chief of the Subangdaku Police Station 2 of the Mandaue City Police Office told the reporters.
Authorities are looking at personal grudge as a possible motive for the killing.
Before the suspects ambushed him, the 29-year-old victim was entering Deca Homes Tipolo, where he lives. He was initially from Carcar City, southern Cebu.
