Skaters in Halloween costumes took to the ice at SM Mall of Asia from October 16 to 18 for the SM Skating Halloween Cup 2026, a three-day competition featuring performances, themed routines, and friendly competition.
Now in its second year, the event joined the 2026 ISI Asia Championship Series for the first time. It gathered around 180 skaters competing in more than 500 events, with participants from SM Skating rinks at SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, and SM Seaside City Cebu, alongside international skaters from Mongolia, Thailand, and the United States.
The Halloween theme added a creative element to the competition, with participants incorporating costumes into their routines. Performances featured a range of outfits and props, including colorful ribbons, as skaters demonstrated their coordination, technique, and artistic expression on the ice.
The event is part of SM Active's efforts to encourage sports participation and support the development of local talent. Competitions provide skaters with opportunities to apply their training, gain experience, and interact with fellow athletes from different backgrounds.
For those interested in learning the sport, the SM Skating Academy offers its Learn to Skate program for beginners of all ages. The program focuses on foundational skating skills in a structured and supportive setting, allowing participants to develop their abilities at their own pace.
SM Skating operates ice rinks at SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, and SM Seaside City Cebu. Through its training programs, competitions, and grassroots initiatives, the organization supports the development of ice skating in the Philippines.
