Premium headphones have increasingly become as much a style statement as they are an everyday essential, and Sony's newest flagship release reflects that evolving balance. With the launch of 1000X THE COLLEXION in the Philippines, the company is placing equal emphasis on sound, craftsmanship, and design as it celebrates a decade of its renowned 1000X series.
Designed for extended wear, the headphones feature premium metal accents, refined faux leather developed over two years, and an ergonomic build intended for long listening sessions. Available in Black and White, 1000X THE COLLEXION combines a minimalist aesthetic with advanced listening technologies, including a bespoke driver unit, Edge-AI powered DSEE Ultimate™, enhanced 360 Reality Audio Upmix, and Sony's acclaimed noise cancellation technology. The flagship headphones are now available at Sony Centres and authorized dealers nationwide with a suggested retail price of P36,999.
Rather than unveiling the product through a conventional presentation, Sony Philippines opted for an immersive launch experience. Held in Manila, the event brought together personalities from the worlds of fashion, business, media, and technology, while also commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 1000X series, which began with the debut of the MDR-1000X in 2016.
The evening opened with a ballet performance that served as the official reveal of 1000X THE COLLEXION, combining movement, music, and visual storytelling. Sony Philippines President and Managing Director Shuhei Sugihara and Marketing Director Kentaro Imamura later welcomed guests and shared the company's vision of continuing to elevate personal listening experiences through innovation.
Fashion remained a central theme throughout the showcase. A live performance by A-Team was followed by a runway presentation styled by Gian Romano, whose avant-garde aesthetic highlighted the headphones as both a premium audio device and a modern lifestyle accessory.
The conversation then shifted to creativity and everyday living during "Talk That Talk," a panel discussion moderated by Rammy Bitong. Fashion designer Rajo Laurel, entrepreneur and lifestyle personality Mika Lagdameo, creative director Daryl Chang, and AGC Power Holdings Corp. Chairman and CEO Archie Carrasco discussed how sound influences creativity, productivity, entrepreneurship, and self-expression, while sharing how the headphones fit naturally into both their personal and professional routines.
Guests also explored interactive installations that offered a closer look at the technology behind the product. The Tech Showcase Lounge showcased the engineering behind 1000X THE COLLEXION, while the Soundcapes immersive booth allowed attendees to experience its audio performance through synchronized music and visual environments.
