Binondo’s Lucky Chinatown turned into more than just a shopping destination, it became a hub of learning, advocacy, and community action as it welcomed the first leg of WWF-Philippines’ Panda on the Move conservation and fundraising roadshow.
At the heart of the launch was actress and WWF-Philippines ambassador Janine Gutierrez, who joined mall executives and WWF leaders in inviting the public to take part in the organization’s ongoing efforts to protect the environment. Guests were greeted by immersive photo exhibits, hands-on activities, and donation booths that encouraged meaningful participation rather than passive browsing.
“The vision is to make conservation accessible, even in everyday spaces like malls,” shared Nori Mizoguchi, General Manager of Lucky Chinatown. “Through this collaboration with WWF-Philippines, we hope families and young people see how small actions can create big impacts.”
Mallgoers found themselves pausing to take in striking visuals of wildlife and environmental projects spearheaded by WWF-Philippines. The Individual Donors Program (IDP) booth, manned by passionate WWF representatives, became a natural gathering point—sparking conversations and even inspiring many to commit as regular givers.
WWF-Philippines Executive Director Katherine Custodio and her team underscored the importance of public engagement, noting that change often begins with awareness and is sustained through consistent support.
But this is just the beginning. Following its successful debut at Lucky Chinatown, Panda on the Move is set to travel across several Megaworld Lifestyle Malls in the coming weeks. Visitors can look forward to interactive talks with WWF conservation experts, special appearances from celebrity ambassadors, and the beloved Chi-Chi the Panda, who adds a playful touch to the advocacy.
The roadshow’s next stops include Alabang West Parade which happened Sept. 7–11, Greenhouse at Village Square Alabang (Sept. 22–26), Twin Lakes (Sept. 29–Oct. 3), Southwoods Mall (Oct. 6–12), Venice Grand Canal at McKinley Hill (Oct. 13–19), Eastwood City (Oct. 20–24), and Uptown Bonifacio (Oct. 27–31).
