Jordan Heading is set to return with Gilas Pilipinas now that he made amends with Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
This was confirmed by head coach Chot Reyes, saying that Heading will join Gilas' practice next week.
"Yes, he said he is coming. Unless something changes, I expect him to be here," said Reyes.
To recall, the 6-foot-2 sniper was not on good terms with SBP after he decided to play for Taichung Suns in the T1 League in Taiwan even though he was under contract with Gilas at the time.
The Filipino-Australian baller is currently playing for Nagasaki Velca in Japan B.League.
Although there is no guarantee that he will enter the Final 12 for the 2023 FIBA ??World Cup Asian qualifiers, Reyes said that Heading's shooting will be a big help for Gilas.
"Shooter. We don't have a lights out shooter, and we're still looking for that," he said.
"We'll see if he can work within the system and work with the players that we have," said the national mentor. "Again there's no guarantee like we told him. That's why we want to take a look at him."
