Allan Iral, chief jail director for the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, praised Crystalene Gonzales for her historic victory in Thailand's 19th International Practical Shooting Confederation.
Gonzales, Evelyn Woods, Rizza Vidallon, and Maria Joahna Catalan won the Team Production Division Ladies' Category of the prestigious international shooting competition, placing second behind Italy.
“We are proud that one of our BJMP officers became a member of the Philippine Team and won in this global shooting competition,” Iral said in a statement over the weekend.
Gonzales graduated from the Philippine National Police Academy in 2009 and pursued her interest in practical shooting.
She started working as a resource speaker at numerous armed defense forums and seminars and as an instructor at the National Jail Management and Penology Training Institute.
