The Philippine Olympic Committee announced Monday that it had reserved a budget-friendly training package for Filipino athletes who would qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This will allow them to acclimatize well before the opening ceremonies.

Following a meeting in Tagaytay City, the POC board authorized the advanced Paris training program for eligible athletes. POC president Abraham "Bambol," Tolentino remarked, "It's a bargain, and it's affordable."

The POC stated that the daily charge is 65 euros (P3,900 per day), which includes complimentary breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in addition to unrestricted use of the training facility, medical care, and sauna.

From July 26 through August 11, the Paris Games are in the spotlight.

Tolentino claims the location is close to La Moselle's banks in Paris.

According to him, the POC won't determine the program's overall cost until the qualifying athletes are identified early in 2024 and next year.

Depending on when an athlete receives their qualification, "it might be a one-month or two-month stay in Paris before the Games," Tolentino said.

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) would cover the costs in advance but reimburse them with money from the P100 million Paris Olympics budget that the Philippine Sports Commission set.
