President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen agreed that patience is needed to deal with the deepening crisis in Myanmar.

This is one of the things discussed by the two leaders in their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

For the president, it will also help if the dynamic of politics in Myanmar is examined.

It can be remembered that last year, ASEAN member states including Myanmar agreed to have a peace plan.

It aims to call for an immediate focus on violence, including dialogue between the military and the opposition movement.

They called this peace plan the "five-point consensus."

Meanwhile, Marcos and Hun Sen also discussed the war in Ukraine.

"The last bilateral meeting I had was with the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Hun Sen, and we discussed at length Myanmar and the possible areas of agreement within the different member states in ASEAN, including the problems that we are feeling from the conflict in eastern Europe between Russia and Ukraine," the President said.
