On November 5, soldiers from the 10th Infantry Division and their cooperating groups carried out relief efforts in the communities of Upi town, Maguindanao, that Severe Tropical Storm Paeng impacted.

Together with other organizations, the 10th ID provided 2,038 relief items to the evacuees at the Notre Dame of Upi and Barangay Happy Valley in the same town, including 120 20-liter water gallons, 1,400 hygiene kits, 372 Purefoods ready-to-eat packs, pre-loved clothing, slippers, various medicines, and other food items.

Barangay Nuro Poblacion resident Hazel Ann Marquez, 40, expressed appreciation for the aid supplies they have received.

Major General Nolasco A. Mempin, commander of the 10th ID, conveyed his deepest sympathies to the afflicted Maguindanao population and thanked all parties involved for their assistance.

Assisting those in Maguindanao who were severely affected by the most recent typhoon Paeng, according to Mempin, "only verifies that the spirit of 'Bayanihan' is still alive."

He pleaded with the populace to keep aiding fellow Filipinos affected by the disaster.

The Philippine Federation of Local Councils of Women, Kiwanis International, Mindanao Peace Council, Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Palm City North Davao Eagles Club, City Government of Tagum, and Business and Professional Women Davao Chapter have joined forces with the 10th ID to create the relief effort.

The military also expressed gratitude to South Divers Point Sarangani, the ECCAN Project, Balik-Loob, the former rebel group of Balik-Tulong, the office of the vice governor of Davao De Oro, and other particular parties.
