NDRRMC says damage cost due to Paeng now close to P7.6 billion

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that the estimated cost of dagame by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng to agriculture and infrastructure is now close to P7.6 billion.

In their latest statement, the estimated cost of damage to infrastructure is now at P4,512,696,137.88.

This comprises 800 roads, bridges, flood control, schools, health, and other facilities.

The number of damaged houses is 34,943, costing an estimated P17,268,000.

Of the said number, 31,676 are partially damaged, and 3,267 total.

According to the Department of Agriculture report, the estimated damage is P3,085,192,147.53.

Of the said number, P113,514,160.96 in the cost of livestock, poultry, and fisheries were damaged.

It also covered 92,253.86 hectares of crops, affecting 81,866 farmers and fisherfolks.

The number of reported deaths remain at 156, injuries at 141 and missing at 37.

The number of affected individuals is at 4,637,173 or 1,273,058 families.

The NDRRMC also reported that P167,619,871.93 in assistance were provided to the residents affected by the storm.
