Because memorial lots have a high appreciation rate, Celestial Meadows Developers Corp. (CMDC) wants to take its company outside Cebu. In addition, Filipinos are becoming increasingly accepting of and interested in investing in memorial lots.

Younger Filipinos are overcoming the stigma of talking about death, according to Roberto Gerald Macalalad, strategic business unit head at Celestial Meadows, who stated this in an interview.

As a result, he said, they plan everything related to it.

One example is that young professionals are enthusiastic about purchasing memorial lots because they realize it is a wise investment whose value will increase over time.

Celestial Meadows is one of the prominent figures in Cebu's death care sector. Over 20 hectares of memorial properties are owned by the business and are dispersed throughout Cebu province.

Memorial parks are located in Minglanilla, Naga, Toledo, Moalboal, and Compostela.

According to Macalad, the company is looking at other locations to grow as its properties in Cebu are nearly all taken.

He said the company's plan calls for it to grow beyond Cebu and construct beautiful memorial parks in important cities like Bohol, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Leyte (Baybay), Tacloban, and others whose markets are open to businesses like theirs.

“Pandemic has allowed us to re-examine where our company is heading, and it allowed us to zero in on areas that need immediate attention, and one of them is to transform our memorial parks into scenic parks for families to create more memories,” Macalalad said.

However, Macalalad stated they would initially cover Cebu by starting cooperative ventures with landowners or creating small memorial parks.
