Eala gets booted early in Hamburg tilt

After bowing to a mightier enemy, Alex Eala crashed out of the W60 Hamburg in Germany early on Thursday (Friday in Manila).

Eala had few answers against Ysaline Bonaventure of Belgium in a  6-4, 6-0, loss.

Facing the tournament's top seed, Eala faltered in just an hour and 33 minutes.

It was a sorry setback for the Filipina ace, who was recently minted No. 248 in the WTA ladder, her highest ranking thus far.

Eala put up a gallant stand in the opening set, even forging a tie 4-4 in the eighth game.

But the Belgian proved much more experienced for the Filipina teen sensation cruising to a 6-0 finishing kick.

The reigning US Open junior's singles champion is seeking her third crown in the ITF pro circuit.

Eala will try to bounce back in the W80 Poitiers in France, scheduled from Oct. 24 through 30.
