UAAP slaps UST's Adama, La Salle's Austria one-game ban

The UAAP has slapped the two players with a one-game suspension.

University of Santo Tomas big man Adama Faye was automatically suspended after being called for disqualifying foul during their game against the University of the East last Sunday.

Faye elbowed UE's Harvey Pagsanjan, fighting for a rebound with 56 seconds left in the third quarter.

Faye is averaging 11.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks for the Growling Tigers.

On the other hand, La Salle sophomore Cyrus Austria will also be suspended for a "flagrant unsportsmanlike foul with no direct play for the ball" he committed against Far Eastern University last Saturday.

Austria tried to stop Patrick Sleat during fastbreak with 5:59 remaining in the third period, but he instead clotheslined the latter.

The swingman averages 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 steals for the Green Archers.

Both Faye and Austria will serve their one-game ban on Wednesday.
