The Philippine Women's National Football Team drew 1-1 with Costa Rica on Saturday morning (Manila time) at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica, thanks to a last-second goal by Katrina Guillou.

After the Costa Ricans' unsuccessful attempt to clear their lines from a set-piece, the 28-year-old midfielder poked the ball home in the 90+3 minute.

Coach Alen Stajcic's team overcame a one-goal deficit thanks to forward Priscilla Chinchilla of Costa Rica, who scored in the 57th minute off a pass from her captain Melissa Herrera.

Before that, the first half of play between the two teams ended in a scoreless draw.

Goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel was kept busy the entire quarter as she made some excellent saves to stop players like Cristin Ganados and Carolina Venegas.

The Filipinas, on the other hand, hardly ever bothered Tapia. Carleigh Frilles, a forward, nearly scored, but her shot exceeded the bar.

However, the 53rd-ranked Filipinas eventually managed to defeat the 37th-ranked Costa Rica in the FIFA Women's World Rankings to salvage a respectable victory.

The two teams will rematch in a friendly game behind closed doors at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. The game is scheduled on Wednesday at 1:00 AM.
