Manila mayor Honey Lacuna on Wednesday went down from her office at city hall and visited Pandacan to talk with and reach out to her constituents personally.

She led city hall officials in a public dialogue with her constituents at the Arvasa court in Barangay 867, Pandacan.

In her speech, Lacuna said she took it upon herself to personal dialogue with the residents so that they need not go to city hall.

“Sa araw araw po na ginagawa natin sa city hall, marami kaming natatanggap na mga sulat, na mga pakiusap mula po sa ating barangay , sa ating mga iba iba pong mga organisasyon at senior citizens  (In our daily tasks at city hall, we receive a deluge of letters of requests from the different barangays, organizations and from our senior citizens),” Lacuna said.

“Kaya minarapat na po namin na imbes na kayo ang pumunta sa city hall, kami po ang pupunta dito sa inyo (This is why instead of you visiting us at city hall, we visited you here),” she added.

She said the dialogue would also be an opportunity for the residents to personally raise their concerns about their financial assistance from city hall.

“Kaya gustong gusto namin kayong marinig sa umagang ito… Para po matanong ninyo nang diretso, at nang sa gayon ano man po ang inyong concerns, mabigyan natin ng mabilis na aksyon (It is why we want to hear from you this morning… so that you can personally raise your concerns so that we can act on it),” Lacuna said.
