The Cavite City government kicked off its weeklong commemoration of Cavite City Day, starting with an Alay Lakad program for the Caviteño youth.
The Alay Lakad 2022, called "Isang hakbang tungo sa pag-unlad at magandang pagbabago sa kinabukasan ng mga kabataan," was led by Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua, Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit, and Councilor Nash Aguas, accompanied by the various residents from the city’s 84 barangays.
The walk began at the Checkpoint Arch in Dalahican and finished on the grounds of Samonte Park. Other agencies also joined the walk, including the Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, and Philippine National Police, among others.
The "Walk For a Cause" program raised P174,815.75 in donations, which will help the city's out-of-school children and vulnerable sectors.
In addition, the city leaders presided over the opening of the historic Ciudad De Cavite Photo and Food Exhibit at the SM Rosario activity center, with Chua stating that the "history and culture of Cavite is very much alive."
