Some of the well-known allies of Vice President Leni Robredo in Mindanao have suffered defeat in the last elections.

Incumbent Surigao del Norte gubernatorial bet Lalo Matugas lose his reelection bid against perennial rival Lyndon Barbers 141, 784 to 159, 900.

Matugas was just one of the select few governors who expressed support for the presidential bid of Robredo.

Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco also failed in her bid in the first congressional district of Zamboanga against Khymer Adan Olaso 54, 035 to 71, 717.

Climaco made headlines during the campaign period when she danced alongside Robredo during the vice president's campaign rally in Zamboanga City.

Aside from Climaco and Matugas, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno also failed in his bid as Misamis Oriental governor, losing badly against Peter Unabia, 89,404 to 248,859.

When Robredo campaigned in CDO, Moreno accompanied her in their campaign rally.
