The camp of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has apologized to those who were affected by their caravan in Quezon City on Wednesday.

Atty. Vic Rodriguez, spokesperson of Marcos, said they did not expect that their caravan would draw a huge crowd.

“Humihingi na rin ng paumanhin at pang-unawa ang BBM-Sara UniTeam sa mga motorista, byahero, pamahalaang lungsod at maging sa [Metropolitan Manila Development Authority] kung ang nasabing Unity Caravan ay nagdulot ng pagsikip sa daloy ng trapiko,” he said in a statement.

The Quezon City government has earlier posted a traffic advisory due to the motorcade along Commonwealth Avenue, Elliptical Road and Quezon Avenue.

It advised motorists to take alternate routes, or those who are already in the affected areas to take the nearest available road or U-Turn slot to avoid heavy traffic.

The motorcade, which kicked off in front of the Commission on Audit along Commonwealth Avenue, was attended by Marcos and his running-mate Davao City Mayor Sara DUterte.

The Marcos camp then thanked their supporters and Malayang QC Team headed by Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor who is running as mayor of the city.

“[A]ng pasasalamat ng BBM-Sara UniTeam sa lahat ng kanilang taga-suporta, partikular sa Malayang QC Team nina Mike Defensor, na gumugol ng panahon at sariling resources upang maisabuhay ang inaasam ng tambalang Marcos-Duterte na pagbubuklod ng sambayanan na sinimulan na sa maraming lugar sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng Unity Caravan, na ngayon nga ay isinagawa sa lungsod Quezon,” Rodriguez added.
