Two weather systems are affecting the Philippine archipelago. According to the state weather bureau a Frontal System, which is a form of wind convergence, is affecting Extreme Northern Luzon.
Forecast says Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains.
Meanwhile, the hot and humid Easterly winds is affecting the eastern section of the country. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or localized thunderstorms late afternoon or evening.
According to the heat index forecast, possible highs in Metro Manila will be at 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.
Yesterday, a heat index range of 42 to 47 degrees Celsius were recorded across 31 areas including in Pasay City at 44C. The hottest recorded yesterday was in Batangas in Ambulong City with 47C.
PAGASA warns possible heat stroke to occur due to prolonged exposure. Heat cramps and heat exhaustion may be experienced with a heat index range of 42 degrees Celsius above.
