At her family's annual Christmas gift-giving for the Dabawenyos on Sunday, Vice President Sara Duterte attended the event at the ancestral home of former President Rodrigo Duterte along Taal Road in the Central Park Subdivision, Bangkal, Davao City.
Dabawenyos received grocery packs and breakfast, lunch, and gift certificate packages.
In her address, the vice president focused on love, forgiveness, and sharing as the three Christmas values that help people live peaceful lives.
Sharing was emphasized as the third Christmas virtue by the vice president.
Because of their ability to forgive and share, especially with those unable to receive anything during this time, Duterte claimed that these values would enable people to live in peace.
Since 1 p.m., Andriana Arcillas, 79, claims to have been waiting close to the location, to thank the vice president in person for the pharmaceutical and burial aid they have received from the Duterte administration since 2015.
Only a few of the numerous initiatives of the City Government of Davao include free cremation help and Lingap para sa Mahirap, a scheme that provides financial aid to impoverished citizens in need of medical assistance.
Before former President Duterte assumed office in 2016, the Dutertes' annual Christmas party for the general public had already begun.
Due to public health limitations put in place by the government in reaction to the COVID-19 epidemic, it had to be canceled in 2020 and 2021.
