In his senior debut, Sebastian Rasmussen scored twice in the second half to help the Philippines defeat Brunei Darussalam, 5-1, last Friday night in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup at Rizal Memorial Stadium, giving the nation its first victory.

Rasmussen, absent in the 2-3 loss to Cambodia last Monday, made his home crowd debut with a couple of stylish finishes in the second half to complete a commanding display by the home team.

Early on, Sandro Reyes produced a beautiful goal to extend the lead after Kenshiro Daniels had opened the scoring with his third goal in as many games.

With Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, and Cambodia all having victories after two matchdays of play, Group A now has four teams with three points after Indonesia's 2-1 win over Cambodia in Jakarta.

At halftime, Rasmussen replaced Daniels as coach Coco Ferre shuffled his team in preparation for Monday's away game against Thailand.

After the resumption, the Azkals quickly increased their lead to three goals when Jhan Jhan Melliza's left-footed goal struck the top corner, setting off wild celebrations at the RMS.

Melliza scored her first goal for her country as the Azkals continued to rule. Rasmussen also missed an opportunity, while captain Stephan Schrock narrowly missed with a header inside the box.

Two minutes later, Rasmussen scored with a stinging attempt that Brunei goalkeeper Haimi Nyaring could not save.

In the 68th minute, Brunei's substitute Razimi Ramili scored to give his team hope, but Rasmussen's clinical finish sealed the victory.
