No Filipinos harmed in deadly Malaysia landslide -DFA

There were no Filipinos among the casualties in a deadly Malaysian campsite landslide that killed 21 and left a dozen more missing on Friday, December 16.
 
"So far, the [Philippine Embassy in Malaysia] has not received any reports of Filipinos affected by the incident. Post continues to monitor developments in the search and rescue operations," Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza said.
 
The Embassy confirmed that they are in contact with the Filipino community in Malaysia and have reached out to the search and rescue authorities.
 
The landslide occurred around 2 a.m. on Friday at the allegedly illegally operating Father's Organic Farm in the Malaysian state of Selangor.
 
Based on reports, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received the first distress call at 2:44 a.m.
 
According to the Malaysian state media Bernama, 51 adults and 30 children were registered for an overnight stay at the farm.
