On December 12, 2022, Davao de Oro Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga presided over the ceremonial groundbreaking for the P10 million, one-story Provincial Medicine Warehouse being constructed at the Provincial Capitol Complex in Nabunturan town.
In her speech, Governor Gonzaga thanked the Department of Health (DOH) through the Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) and the Provincial Health Office (PHO) for their assistance in realizing the building.
She also discussed her plans to provide additional funding to ensure the construction will be completed on schedule.
The municipal council agreed upon the distribution of aid last month to help the people in the disaster-stricken districts, according to Baloran, who personally handed the cash aid to the affected areas.
PHO director Dr. Antonio P. Ybiernas stated in his message that the structure would serve as a storage facility for goods such as pharmaceuticals and vaccinations and a satellite office to enhance PHO's day-to-day operations.
Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang, the regional director for DCHD, was also present during the ceremony and stressed the need for a warehouse in case of crises in her message.
Dr. Yumang noted that the supply officers who would take care of the supplies would receive a variety of training, including instruction on proper temperature requirements to prevent pest infection. She also anticipates assistance from the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) for the building's upkeep and supervision.
