June Mar Fajardo hopes to return sooner after recovering from the throat surgery he underwent more than a month ago.

The soonest that the six-time PBA MVP could return in San Miguel’s game versus Phoenix Super LPG this Saturday.

"Next game, try ko. Hihingi lang kami ng clearance sa doktor kung papayagan ako maglaro,” Fajardo told reporters moments after SMB’s 85-80 loss to Magnolia on Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Fajardo last played on October 9 against Rain or Shine after he was inadvertently elbowed by then-Elasto Painters import Steve Taylor Jr.

The San Miguel star then underwent surgery and explained that a metal was inserted in his throat.

Now feeling healthy, Fajardo hopes that he could help the Beermen salvage their playoff hopes this conference.

SMB is currently ninth in the standings with a 4-5 record.

“Basta ako, pagbalik ko ibibigay ko lahat, makatulong lang ako sa team,” he said.

“Nasa bottom of the standings ata kami ngayon so sana makatulong ako pagbalik ko.”
