John Amores gets banned indefinitely from NCAA

John Amores was slapped with an indefinite suspension by NCAA.

Fr. Vic Calvo, OP of Letran, announced on Wednesday during the halftime break of the San Beda-Lyceum game at the Filoil Ecooil Centre.

"Violence has no place in the NCAA. The Mancom condemns and will not tolerate any acts of violence that will endanger our athletes, participants, officials supporters and the public. The safety of everyone is our primordial concern," he said.

The NCAA Management Committee handed down the heftiest penalty to the Jose Rizal University forward on Wednesday following his on-court rampage on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mark Sangco and Chris Flores of College of Saint Benilde were slapped with two-game suspensions for engaging in fistfight, while William Sy and Ryan Arenal also were banned for two games for committing disrespectful acts before Mancom representatives, who were trying ti de-escalate the situation.

Sy also gets an additional one-game ban for entering the playing court together with JRU's Jason Tan, Joshua Guiab, Jason Celis, Marwin Dionisio, Marc Abaoag, Jonathan Medina, Karl De Jesus, and Christian Gonzales, as well as CSB's Ladis Lepalam.

With 11 players suspended, JRU will have to forfeit their game against San Sebastian on Friday.
