Cardi B gets into heated argument with lawyer in racy mixtape artwork case

Kevin Michael Brophy is asking $5 million from Cardi B for using his artwork in the rapper’s mixtape artwork. The artwork features a tattooed man from behind with his head between the rapper’s legs.

During the hearing, a heated argument between Cardi B and the lawyer for the person accusing her of copyright infringement. The exchange got so intense that the judge briefly paused the trial.

The Grammy winner answered several questions by Attorney Barry Cappello, who was representing a man who claims the rapper misused his likeness on the cover of a 2016 mixtape.

The U.S. District Judge Cormac Carney promoted sending jurors out of the Santa Ana, California courtroom and advised both sides he was considering a mistrial. He called the incident “unprofessional” and “not productive.”

However, the judge allowed litigation to resume, but this time he imposed new restrictions for both parties.

The rapper insisted that Brophy harassed her legally for five years. She also pointed out that she missed a special day with her youngest child, who recently turned 1-year-old.
