Barangay San Antonio in San Pedro was among the most affected areas in Laguna when Typhoon Paeng hit the country. According to the local government unit, the torrential rain left many residents without a home; some died due to the flooding.

As soon as the sky cleared, the team of the JC Cares Foundation led relief operations to help the people of San Pedro City.

Congresswoman Ann Matibag welcomed President and CEO Jonathan So and VP and CFO Carl Macadangdang during their visit last November _, (day).

The JC Cares team prepared packs of canned goods, noodles, rice, coffee, and biscuits distributed to 500 families.

Even though the queue was long, the residents cheerfully waited for their turn. In addition, the team ensured that health protocols were observed during the distribution.

"Pagod pero sulit!," says President Jonathan So. "I hope our gifts can help you," he added.

"Gratitude helps you to grow and expand. It brings joy and laughter into your life and the lives of all those around you," VP Macadangdang posted after the relief operations.

Before the event, JC Cares spearheaded a donation drive called Tulong Tayo! (Let us help) where it asked for in-kind donations like bottled water, instant noodles, canned goods, soaps, shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrushes; alcohol, medicines, clothes, pillows, and blankets.

This is not the first time JC Cares has responded quickly to the needs of victims of typhoons in the country.

After the onslaught of Typhoon Karding, the JC Cares team, So and Macadangdang, visited Brgy. Sto. Niño in Marikina City. More than 120 families received donation packs from the #Keephelping team.

So and Macadangdang have different reasons for holding the event, but all other reasons boil down to their love for family and desire to provide.

Young business magnates Jonathan So and Carlito Macadangdang, owners of homegrown brands such as toktok, JC Premiere, and Siomai King, founded JC Cares to help needy individuals.

JC Cares Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was established to aid people in need. Their slogan, #KeepHelping aspires to better the lives of others. The foundation's objective is to provide people with the beginning of a happy life to others.
