The Securities and Exchange Commission-Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TEO) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Nueva Ecija signed an Agreement to fast-track the registration of newly organized agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs).

The DAR announced the development a day after the province of Nueva Ecija was placed under a state of calamity due to the extensive damage caused by Super Typhoon Karding on agricultural crops and infrastructure in the province.

Eden B. Ponio, DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II said the parties agreed to collaborate to fast-track the registration of ARBOs with the SEC and to facilitate the conduct of training for members of the Nueva Ecija ARBOs.

“We will assist them in securing all regulatory requirements for SEC regulation, ensure that all regulatory requirements are complete, and provide them with the logistics in the conduct of training,” Ponio said.

Ponio said this is the first joint activity between the two government agencies.

Meanwhile, Atty. Richard R. Laus, SEC-TEO Director, said the SEC would establish and strengthen effective linkages with various government and non-government agencies, business organizations, local government units, the academe, and other stakeholders.

The ARBOs in the province include the Popolon United Farmers Association of Palayan City; Licabeñong Gintong Butil Farmers Association; Kaakibat sa Bundok Planters Association Inc.; Hope for the Women's Association; Nagkaisang Gabay sa Bayan ng Gabaldon; Cuyapa Agri-Tubig Upland Farmer's Association; Systenableng Agrikulturs para sa Malinao na Kasapian ng Kanayunan Inc.; Villarosa Farmers Association, Zaralica Farmers Association; and Masipag Kabangkalan Farmers Association.
