K-pop group Super Junior has postponed their Super Show 9 in Manila Concert scheduled on August 6 at the Mall of Asia Arena until further notice, the K-pop group's management, Label SJ, announced.

Label SJ announced the event's postponement on Super Junior's Twitter page on the same day.

The label said that after lengthy discussions between the promoter and the K-pop group members, everybody agreed that it would be difficult to hold the Concert as appropriately scheduled.

"First of all, after many long discussions between the promoter and Super Junior members, we both agreed that it will be difficult to properly hold 'Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 9: Road in Manila' as scheduled. However, the members wanted to meet and greet the fans who came to Manila to attend the Concert, so we'd like to ask everyone with tickets to enter the concert venue on time," it stated.

The announcement came after member Eunhyuk was "unable to depart" for Manila due to his father's sudden death.

Label SJ announced that despite the sad news, the remaining members, Leeteuk, Donghae, Yesung, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Shindong, will still meet and greet the fans with tickets at the concert venue. Therefore, everyone with tickets is still encouraged to enter the concert venue on time.

"We kept talking up to 3 am to decide on what to do. This Concert is not cancelled, but rather it's postponed. Think of it like you guys buying the ticket early. I requested the promoter to give you two days [next time]. When we come back, Siwon will be in the middle and Eunhyuk, my 'doppelganger' will be by my side," Super Junior's leader Leeteuk said during their meet and greet.

On Wednesday, August 3, member Siwon tested positive for COVID-19, halted all his activities, and is currently self-quarantining.

The label assured the fans or ELFs that details on tickets and the new schedule for the tour would be announced soon.

Super Junior last held their Concert in the country on December 15, 2019 for their Super Show 8. "Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 9: Road in Manila" was supposed to be the K-pop group's sixth performance in the Philippines and the first one in the country since COVID-19 pandemic.
