The number of fully vaccinated Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in Bureau of Corrections have risen to 13,656 or 28% of the 48,537 inmates in its facilities across the country.

According to the latest data from the BuCor, as of December 3, there are also 25,499 inmates tagged as partially vaccinated.

So far, 39,155 inmates or 80.67% have been vaccinated, BuCor added.

At the New Bilibid Prison, the country's national penitentiary, 4,507 PDLs have completed their doses, while 17,588 inmates are waiting for their second dose.

With this, 22,095 out of 28,516 total inmates at the Bilibid or 77.48% of its total PDL population have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The six other BuCor facilities in the country have also reported at least 60% of their respective inmate population as vaccinated.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra earlier moved to include inmates in the three-day National Vaccination Days program of the government's coronavirus task force.

Guevarra said their request was granted and the government is allotting 30,000 doses for BuCor facilities. These vaccines can be inoculated beyond the three-day campaign, he added.
