Drawing lessons from the public outrage over the deployment of fully-armed policemen inside a Pangasinan school, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is already preparing for the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes in 28 Metro Manila schools starting Monday, December 6.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said the PNP has already secured a list of the 28 participating schools for the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes in the National Capital Region.

"It’s all systems go for the Philippine National Police. The resumption of the face-to-face learning setup is not new anymore for us since other schools have already started this last November," said Carlos.

"We just have to follow the template and remind our police personnel to strictly limit themselves from going inside school premises unless there is a request for security assistance,” he added,

Last month, Carlos apologized after netizens and other groups lashed at the PNP for deploying policemen inside a classroom during the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes in Pangasinan.

Carlos earlier said that he had already ordered an investigation into possible lapses over the incident.

Meanwhile, Carlos reminded the students, parents and guardians to still practice minimum health protocols such as wearing of facemask and frequent hand washing.
